2023 saw cyber firms reduce headcount and some file for bankruptcy. In a year where cyber attack frequency, complexity and severity of impact rose. If correct, and you read this across the cyber investment industry. There was a reduction in investment funding in 2023, but there was still money out there looking to fund new solutions. Are we seeing a correlation between cyber investment and a reduction in the effects of cybersecurity?

Will we see boards become more interested in cybersecurity now there are civil and criminal liabilities attached for cyber risk management compliance. One expects that boards and security professionals will now be asking suppliers, ‘how does this reduce my cyber risk, how does this keep me out of court, how will you indemnify me against the claims made, what are you doing to manage third party supplier risk’.
