A challenges AI faces is one of ‘hallucinations’ and Open Ai has reduced its hallucination rate from 61% to 37%, a great leap forward. It is also a demonstration that AI models are not perfect, Yet. But are moving in the right direction. When one considers AI, it is without a doubt a powerful tool and its adoption provides many advantages for the public and private sector. AI also create challenges, today the output from AI cannot be taken as ‘the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth’, it has to be taken with a pinch of salt. There are several cases in US Courts where the outputs from AI have been questioned. To the extent that some courts require Attorneys to acknowledge the use of AI, following several cases where the AI has generated hallucinations, that were picked up in the court room.We have to be careful with AI as we move ahead, as reports start to come out as to the effect of AI on our critical thinking. While AI removes the need to evaluate data and make simple decisions, the effect of hallucinations becomes more pronounced when we use it to make more complex decisions. Especially when we use AI to evaluate data and make decisions outside the sphere of our professional competence, and here lies a problem.https://lnkd.in/eh9sz2zSMany decisions require the intervention of skilled, knowledgeable and experienced professionals, that have the ‘t-shirt’ so to speak. In these circumstances AI creates a powerful tool, in part as it reduces the effect of hallucinations.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D. McCarthy Faisal Khan Ryan Buckner Rachel V.
