With the recent issues with sharing sensitive information on insecure mobile devices, it pulls together many of the changes made by the new administration.An AP threat assessment of 59 sabotage incidents launched by Russia across the EU was discussed.This weeks 2025 Senate Hearing on the Annual Worldwide Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Community. It paints a consistent picture of the threat faced by the US from nation state threat actors including China and Iran.The geopolitical threat is the highest that it has been since the cold war. China is working to replace the US as the world dominant super power. Iran aims to destroy the state of Israel and the US, supporting the attacks on global shipping. The finding of the worldwide threat report should be a wake up call to protect the US.It is a sobering assessment of the challenges the US faces and the impact of recent changes made by the US administration on immediate security. The use of new technologies are enabling those less skilled threat actors to force multiply the threat against US interests (by extension other nation states). Cyber is a significant issue for US utilities, state and nonstate actors working for state actors continue to target infrastructure.
