Call us now:
A great article on the pressures placed on cybersecurity professionals and attrition, that continues to paint a worrying picture for the future of cybersecurity risk management. At a time when cyber attack frequency, complexity and severity are on the increase.
What do these figures tell us about the state of cybersecurity and the pressure placed on security professionals. Why are security professionals working way above their contracted hours; Why is stress rising to levels that are not sustainable, where firefighting continues to be the predominant role over setting cyber strategy? It tells us that boards do not treat the subject seriously, there is not enough money being spent on cybersecurity and we are unable to manage the cyber security talent gap and talent pool properly.
One wonders why with the increase in cyber regulation that hold boards accountable and responsible for cybersecurity risk management, with potential civil and criminal penalties, will cyber professionals stay around to carry the risk? It’s in the self interest of the board to look after their CISO and security teams.
