A great read on the efforts being made to upscale AI, as big tech aspires to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI) on parr with human intelligence. A report that collects the thoughts of over 475 AI researchers globally. Thank you Faisal Khan for providing it.https://lnkd.in/dQi7cR2HHas big tech got it right with its approach to scaling of AI, when the Chinese dropped DeepSeek, that claimed to require ordinately less processing power to learn than conventional Western LLMs. Are we now playing Pareto and the 80:20 rule at his own game, hoovering up of all that knowledge and applied training has now led us a peak of AI performance. As there maybe little knowledge left in the public domain to learn from.AI now needs to know the stuff that’s hard to find, hard to process and hard to correlate. That requires more machine learning and knowledge management, cause and effect, than is required to drive current AI. AI can tell us how to boil and egg, because enough people have written about how to boil and egg.But can AI replace the knowledge of an auditor, engineer or doctor to the extent they are no longer needed, today? No it cannot, as the knowledge, skills and experience of those professionals is difficult to capture 100%. AI today is not yet equipped to handle reasoning to the extent required by those professionals. Now the 20% pareto gap needs to be closed, and that requires the 80% of effort.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
