A great summary of the latest feedback on the Securities and Exchanges Commissions Cybersecurity risk management proposal is informative. It shows a split between industry, investors and regulators on the proposed ruling, the depth of feeling on cyber incident reporting, duplication of regulatory oversight and the security concerns related to the disclosure of polices and procedures.
The feedback is a great review of current legislation and compliance by SEC registrants. The Chamber of Commerce asked for an extension to comment, that was declined by the SEC. Recently extensions were give to other SEC proposals, it makes me wonder what happens next for the proposal?
