A poignant statement. ‘2024 has already seen some of the most significant cyber attacks in US history’, which is a statement that feels true. One is not convinced the U.S, and other nations, have done allot of defensive cybersecurity, given the success of the cyber attacks in 2024. Defensive cyber security is not a national capability, but one that all companies must adopt. Conversely offensive cyber us a capability governments can deliver as proven many time in 2024 where cyber gangs have been bought to justice.Offensive cyber has a tendency to lead to retaliatory attacks, attacks whose source will be difficult to find. There needs to be a balance struck between offensive and defensive operations, on one hand targeting the root of cyber attacks. On the other protecting CNI sectors that require investment in cybersecurity resources.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
