A speech worth reading this week from Gurbir Grewal the Director of the SECs Enforcement Division. Talking about the role of the SEC in providing oversight and assurance of financial markets. Mr Grewal makes the point that the role of the SEC should not be seen as one of enforcement of legislation, but using the tools available to fulfil it mission. The SECs three-part mission of protecting investors, maintaining fair, orderly and efficient markets, and facilitating capital formation.
