Call us now:
A thought provoking article following the UnitedHealth Cyber attack. Should corporate boards be concerned about what happens next for United Health. If the SEC and FTC start an investigation (it appears from the press that they have) into the February 2024 cyber attack that has been called one of the largest cyber attacks in the U.S and a threat to national security?
Turning cybersecurity in the board room feels a little like turning an oil tanker. That is now being helped along by cyber regulation and possible legal action, with the outcome of the Uber case, pending decision by the Judge on how to move the SolarWinds case forward, and potential investigations over the United Health incident.
The letter from the Chair of the Senate Finance committee to the Chairs of the SEC and FTC was scathing in its response about failures of Corporate Governance, oversight and assurance by UnitedHealth’s management over cybersecurity. That one suspects would be no different to many companies. One, suspects (hopes) that the oil tanker will turn quicker if the SEC and FTC probe into the United Health incident, quicker than the SolarWinds case, if we’re to address the national security issues cyber creates.
