A very interesting report on the Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) opportunities for cybersecurity.
I understand the need for the insurance industry to identify sources of capital to underwrite the risk and the opportunity for investors to develop Insurance Linked Securities (ILS). But is cyber insurance ready, none of the measures being discussed by cyber insurers seem to say yes, just yet.
Cyber is a volatile risk and needs the regulatory regimes under development to bed in and make the necessary changes to cybersecurity risk management, one assumes they are being developed to achieve. Cyber is one of a few risks that has the ability to impact both direct and indirect losses for both insurers and re-insurers.
