Everyone, including the EU is playing cyber catchup. As the risk in cyber attack frequency, complexity and severity is impacting the EU Parliament. Requiring their cybersecurity risk management to be commensurate to the risk. A risk that has national security considerations.
Unfortunately that may not be the case for the EU. As the Parliament’s President and vice president ask the head of ICT Security to step down, following concerns that security is not up to scratch.
Cyber is a well understood, dynamic and notoriously difficult risk to manage and the changes come at voting time for the U.S, EU and UK. Increasing the pressure on the EU to find a replacement.
