The CISO is the the only role that wants to sit at the board table, but has no professional standing to site along side there peers. A role that lawyers and regulators are gunning for, yet most CISOs have no regulatory compliance training or experience and like risk management, compliance is a career path in its own right.
As a CISO expert witness. I would not want to sit across the court room from any of the lawyers I know. It isn’t a pleasant experience.
