An interesting article from McKinsey (just hit my in-box) on targeted recruitment to address the shortage in cybersecurity talent and reduce cybersecurity risk. With developments in cybersecurity risk management legislation ‘left of bang’, such as EU NIS 2.0, DORA and the SECs cyber security risk management proposal. The cybersecurity envelop will get bigger and cross more departments than those traditionally involved in cyber such as the CISO. That may see the CISO held legally accountable for cybersecurity risk management decision making. (see SolarWinds Case)

Driving the three lines to focus on risk management cybersecurity, oversight and assurance, and regulatory reporting. Creating challenges and opportunities for cybersecurity professionals and focusing for risk based cybersecurity management. That will sit on top of traditional cybersecurity baselines.
