U.S Federal agencies are aligning behind cyber governance and risk management. The DHS is aligned with FISMA, the SEC proposal, EU NIS 2 and DORA are setting cyber risk and governance requirements. Board accountability and responsibility for cybersecurity risk management is a clear regulatory agenda.

While cyber hygiene is important, we can€„¢t PSA our way out of this,€ , €œCEOs and boards must embrace cyber risk as a matter of good governance and as a matter of business.€ Jen Easterly of CISA.

CISA plans to shift more cyber accountability to boards, that can mean only one thing, regulation. Cyber moves ‘Left of Bang’.
