As the Colonial ransomware escalates the US has passed emergency legislation to allow truckers to transport fuel supplies down the East Coast of the US.

The attack comes at a time when demand for fuel in the US is on the rise as it comes out of COVID. With the reduced supply it is expected that Petrol and diesel futures will rise when US trading starts. With the pipeline being critical to East Coast supply, it maybe to early to say what the fallout will be. But with President Biden’s 100 day SCRM assessment underway, starting in February which includes Energy, it won’t be far off.
