As with the cyber attack on Synnovis earlier this year, the cyber attack on TFL is taking a little time to resolve. One would say that it was a ‘sophisticated’ and ‘aggressive’ attack by a highly motivate nation state threat actor. However it was an attack by a 17 year old script kiddy, who TLF said initiated a ‘sophisticated’ and ‘aggressive’ hack. I am not being derogatory to script kiddies BTW, Lapsus$ were also accomplished at what they did in 2022.

What I do question is the ability of a 17 year old, possibly working alone to cause such damage. As seem to be the case with TFL, the damage caused by the attack seem to be taking some time to resolve. One wonders how resilient TFL infrastructure was and how a 17 year old completes a ‘sophisticated’ and ‘aggressive’. What would happen if it were an accomplished nation state threat actor?
