Brian D. McCarthy, an important report from INSEAD on the complexities ahead for boards as technology and information risk drive faster than the ability of boards to keep up. A report written in conjunction with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Heidrick & Struggles. We live in a rapidly developing world and boards need to keep pace or risk and information and technology risk is probably the biggest non financial risk bord face. When directors were asked whether their companies have a clear understanding of how sustainability, GenAI, trade and geopolitics will impact value creation, the responses paint a more nuanced picture. While a majority strongly or somewhat agree that their companies grasp the effects of sustainability and geopolitical trade dynamics, confidence drops significantly regarding GenAI.As AI, political tensions and cyber risks mount, boards appear to be less certain about their and their companies abilities to take advantage of the disruption to deliver value. One would also add that the tensions ahead across all three of these interconnected domains, and the lack of board ability, drive more than just corporate concern. They drive the erosion or eradication of corporate strategy, operational advantage and in the worst case leads to bankruptcy.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski, the report substantiates Veritas GRC initiatives to deliver our board governance programs for Gen AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud and Data risk. Programs that pull together ‘strings’ together reduce the fog around information risk, supporting board gain clarity and set better direction to protect corporate strategic advantage and deliver shareholder value.Faisal Khan#cybersecurity #cyberriskmanagement #artificalintelligence #informationrisk
