Brian D. McCarthy with over 8,000 cyber jobs open between May 2022 and April 2023 U.S Federal Government is moving to free up the recruitment process. U.S Federal Government often sets the requirements for job roles to have qualifications that fit with the role. The challenges that all government face with cyber recruitment is that there are not enough qualified and experienced resource across the market to support national cybersecurity strategy. For the House of Representatives to move to relax cyber educational requirements for federal works is significant in opening job roles and improving access to cyber talent.
The U.S government released its National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy in July 2023, ‘which included goals to strengthen the federal cyber workforce through things like skills-based hiring, scholarships, and reducing barriers for cyber workers transitioning between public and private service.’
