CMMC is starting to find its way into US DoW contracts. But I’m not sure deployment is going to be easy if contracts start to get the treatment that this one has got.
To deliver a Dive Trailer, CMMC compliance is required. But one wonders about the statement of work (Section C) in the Solicitation.
1. SSPs for covered systems will be available for review, in line with DFARS 7012.
2. If SSPs aren’t up to scratch, the contractor will be informed, and they will be remediated in 30 days. If longer is required, POAMs will be submitted.
3. The Contractor will fully implement NIST SP 800-171.
Compliance with DFARS is necessary to protect US National Security and the security of the Warfighter. Maybe protection in line with the risk to national security is a documented requirement for CMMC.
