Coming at the same time as an announcement that Seagate has been fined $300mn for selling hard disk drives (HDDs) to Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. (Huawei) in violation of the foreign direct product (FDP) rule. The U.S is upping the game on U.S companies that breach export controls, selling technologies with both commercial and military use.
