Cyber defenses, we have cyber defenses, who told the hackers?One has been in cyber for 20 years, followed international cyber strategy, delivered cyber programs globally and worked with regulators.However unpalatable it is to say, at no point has one ever considered the UK to have cyber defenses that could with withstand a concerted attack. The UK has lacked a defensive cyber strategy for many years.There’s a global cyber resource shortage, who is going to work for the public sector when the private sector pay 3 or 4 times base salary.One only has to consider this weeks announcements by the UK government on cyber spend. It’s a fraction of what is needed. Or listen to Congressional committee hearings over the past few years to realise the cyber genie is out the bottle and it isn’t going back in.CHERI technology…………why didnt anyone else think of that……….Would it have prevented the M&S hack, No, it was based on human error. Poor AM and RBAC is poor AM RBAC.Cyber strategy isn’t difficult to implement, our international partners seem to be doing it.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
