Cybersecurity regulation over the pipeline industry is being proposed following the Colonial pipeline hack exposing the light touch for cyber regulation over the industry. The Transport Security Administration (TSA), a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agency did have the resources to provide appropriate oversight or assurance.

The TSA will now look to mandate cybersecurity over the industry with Senator Jim Langevin commenting, ¢â‚¬Å“Im very concerned whenever I see a lack of urgency given the potential threats we face,¢â‚¬Â ¢â‚¬Å“Youre leaving so many areas exposed by not having a review ¢â‚¬â€ and addressing at least the vulnerabilities that you can identify.¢â‚¬Â

Another example of regulatory oversight and assurance being placed over CNI in the US.
