Delta Air Lines, CrowdStrike and Microsoft are drawing the battle lines following the July 19th incident.

With Delta laying the root cause of the incident at the feet of Crowdstrike and Microsoft. With Microsoft and Crowdstrike blaming Delta for failing to run up to date infrastructure and poor resilience.

This is going to be a case to watch, as there is litigation lining up against CrowdStrike including by shareholders and private citizens affected by the incident.

The case has wider implications for the tech sector. Who is responsible for managing risk in cases highlighted by the incident. The Crowdstrike contract limits compensation and many boards didn’t anticipate such a large scale outage. There are many more products similar to Crowdstrike.

Bring the popcorn, as with the SolarWinds case there’s alot to play for.
