Capturing what EU and US partners have been discussing for the past few years, about their own cyber maturity. ‘the UKs cyber defenses have been outpaced by hostile state actors’.One would go further, we’ve been outpaced by script kiddies, who’ve added cyber to their curriculum alongside studying for their GCSEs. They likely outpaced UK retailers over the past weeks from their bedrooms, at great cost to society. Where’s the UK government’s program to educate the board room and facilitate the adoption of cyber?’The Cabinet Office, which is responsible for leading on implementing the government’s cyber security strategy, acknowledged to the PAC’s inquiry that there is now a significant gap between cyber threat and government’s response to it.’Cyber did not creep up on the UK.
