FireEye has reported that it has been attacked and had its toolkits stolen, thought to be by Russian hackers. In what maybe a response to their activates against other hacking groups. An embarrassing episode for a company known to be one of the top tier cyber testers and incident responders.
Its toolkits are core IP and an opportune prize if they are sold on, or reverse engineered in the hacking community, as was the case with the NSA data breach, AKA EternalBlue. The hack could be the biggest loss of hacking tools since the NSA lost code in 2016.
