For those in the know, @Thaddeus Dziekanowski, the US already has the power to affect the EU defence industry and suppliers to the Dow and US DIB. The DoW only has to audit EU DIB compliance to DFARS 252.204-7012 under the False Claims Act.

DFARS 252.204-7012 is a little-understood cybersecurity regulation that all DoW contractors must comply with, and most contractors ignored it. From November 2025, under DFARS 252.204-7021, DIB contractors must demonstrate compliance or risk losing the right to bid for new defence contracts and fulfill options.

The US government does not need to refuse EU defence contractors access to US contracts; it only has to enforce CMMC compliance, which is already a US DoW regulation and the False Claims Act.

Although it won’t do much for the Entente Cordiale, but, it is a contractual requirement, and all covered EU contractors to the DIB have had since 2016 to comply with DFARS 7012.
