Here in lies a challenge for the UK governments plans for AI. Pilots to demonstrate the benefits of AI have not been taken up or not worked. AI is looking for solutions to solve, as much as those requiring solutions need to look at AI as a the solution.AI is not a panacea, it won’t solve world hunger, or peace. It has to be integrated into ‘the way we do business’. An integration that is not always easy.“Unsuccessful pilots and trials aren’t necessarily a cause for concern, as they offer an opportunity to improve, but these failures raise important questions for the government’s approach to AI in the public sector,” said Imogen Parker, associate director at the Ada Lovelace Institute, an independent research body focused on data and AI. “Are the right lessons being learned and acted upon, and does the reality of AI match the rhetoric?”One hopes that going forward challenges with AI adoption can be overcome.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
