I do not agree with what has been done. But if it proves to be the case that Lapsus$ is a hacking group of mainly teenagers, then they will go down in history and be a lesson for companies and cybersecurity.

We often talk about script kiddies, but if these teens found a way to beat the casino, and some big tech companies; if teenagers in their bedrooms made millions, stole data and impacted the share price of Okta. Then this should be is a lesson for companies, their boards and cyber security professionals.

If Lapsus$ found a way to socially engineer their way into companies, which is a simple threat vector. What would have happen if they were a nation state or proxy without the morals associated with youth, how would ‘shields up’ fair?
