If Scattered spider and/ or its affiliates is the group reportedly behind the M&S hack, they have a well documented track record in cyberattacks. It is believed the group is made up of script kiddies, teenagers and young adults colloquially known as script kiddies. The asymmetric nature of cybersecurity makes all companies vulnerable to cyber attacks, especially as corporate dependence on data, cloud and more importantly AI grows. The M&S attack is a further demonstration of the voracity of cyber, and leaderships ignorance of the complexities of the management of cybersecurity, and the lack of governance over cyber risks. One waits to see what the UK governments approach to addressing cybersecurity risk management for UK PLC. If the script kiddies can wreak havoc, using social engineering, what can the nation state threat actors do. @Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
