Is the SECs enforcement regime starting to pay off? A great interview in the Wall Street Journal with the SECs head of enforcement Gurbir Grewal. Who thinks it is. (https://lnkd.in/esNJSPYx)

“That was a conscious effort over the last two years to make sure the penalties we were seeking were having that deterrent effect” that was more than the cost of doing business, Grewal told The Wall Street Journal.

What is clear is next year opens up more possibilities for the SEC to fine organizations for non-compliance. As of October 2023 there were 37 proposed SEC rules waiting final adoption.(https://lnkd.in/esvaK2t7)
