It was a pleasure to attend the ADS Group Ltd US Export Controls workshop this week, at the kind invitation of ADS Group, Brinley Salzmann and law firm Squire Patton Boggs to discuss DFARS compliance, cybersecurity, and the recent release by the US DoD.
The presentation by Karen Harbaugh and me brought DFARS, CMMC, and cybersecurity compliance to the fore with the UK defence industry. Highlighting the challenges and opportunities ahead for the UK defense industry as the DoD moves forward with CMMC compliance. CMMC will present many challenges for both the DIB and DoD over the coming years. Challenges that will only come to the fore as the DIB, Governments, and the DoD grasp the nettle that is cybersecurity regulatory compliance.
The debate was informative and lively as we discussed the recent DFARS Final rule and opportunities and challenges for the Defence Industry Base.
