I’ve realized over the past 6 months, you get less views when you post data breaches than other posts. But this one is interesting, like bitcoin before, AI is now a target. The data AI firms handle in security is by far the most sensitive. The PII cannot be changed.
Clearview a US AI firm which develops and sells facial recognition software to law enforcement agencies and which courted controversy when it was found to have scrapped 3 billion facial images from the internet. Drawing intense criticism from privacy campaigners. Has announced it has suffered a cyber attack and had it client lists stolen.
Having been involved in enough cyber incidents. I’m always wary when the attack stops at say the client list.
