last weeks cyber attack affecting London Hospitals, continues to effect operations and healthcare. 200 Operations have been being cancelled, including life-saving procedures and 3,000 non-surgical appointments and transplants. As NCSC and Synnovis continue to resolve the suspected Ransomware.

Like many health providers that face cyber attacks, the event has exposed challenges organisation face with cyber. The U.S and EU has first hand experience of cyber attacks that create national emergencies. This years United Health attack being a good example.

One wonders the extent of the attack and what data was compromised and if like United Health the attack went further than stealing PII. One wonders how the Governments pledge to not pay ransom to hackers will effect the incident response and recovery process.

Maybe, like other nations, its time to consider how the UK addresses cybersecurity regulation of critical national Infrastructure (CNI)?
