Legislative proposals on both sides of the Atlantic aim to require ICT and digitally enabled hardware and software manufacturers to provide a certificate of security compliance. If passed the EU is working on the Cybersecurity Resilience Act that will require the manufacturers of digitally enabled technology that includes amongst others Operating systems, security applications, IoT and OT to provide a certificate of cyber compliance of their products and services before they can be sold and distributed across the EU.
