MoneyGram has replaced its CEO Alex Holmes with an Ex Walmart exec, in what appears to be in response to is recent cyber attack. The Private Equity backed firm is also looking for a new Chairman, as Alex Holmes held both roles. One hopes they will find a Chairman that understands the important role cyber and cyber regulation plays in corporate governance.

One sees investors increasingly paying attention to the effects of cyber attack. One wonders if the dual hat role of CEO and Chair, and the role Private Equity has in the company. The decision to replace the CEO was taken quickly.
