Nice terminology @Thaddeus Dziekanowski, AI and the ‘third rail’. The power of AI is not in doubt and its use cuts across all knowledge industries, including healthcare. Ultimately, for countries such as the U.S the benefit case for insurers is obvious, a high quality of assessment, quicker.
As are the benefits for patient health and well being. Following a simple 80:20 rule, if a patient can be evaluated before they meet a GP, then the GP can deliver a higher quality service and quicker.
But what happens if and when AI gets it wrong, especially in the field of medicine. Watch out for the ‘third rail’, it’s live and it’s dangerous, but it’s safe as long as you respect it.
