No one is immune to IP theft. The U.S DoD has been saying for years that IP from across its Defense Industry base has been ‘acquired’ by other nation states to build weapon systems. Namely by the Chinese, who in this instance are suspected of using a design of a UK aircraft.IP theft is not new, its just easier in today. There are countless cases of IP theft, that in some jurisdictions just appears to be standard practice. Why put the effort in yourself to design a product or services, when you can simply take the drawings, BoM and manufacturing details from someone else.“The Islander is a globally renowned, iconic airframe and this UAV does not have our endorsement.
