CISA has aligned itself to CSF profiles for some time across many industry sectors. The SEC and EU is proposing cybersecurity risk management regulations that require a cybersecurity risk management framework; FISMA is aligned to CSF profiles; the American Bankers Associations created a CSF profile for FIs.
It all points to the use of CSF profiles as part of the Cybersecurity risk management process. Covering cybersecurity governance, strategy, business and mission objectives, risk management and cybersecurity practices.
The challenge that many will face is how to implement a cybersecurity risk management framework, that includes cybersecurity practices. I’m especially proud of the videos that we at the Augusta Group created last year on CSF profiles, ahead of the curve. We called the SEC proposal last year to 😉
