One is always interested when one reads about the application of the False Claims Act as it relate to DFARS 252.204-7012 (DFARS 7012). As has been mentioned many times, DFARS 7012, is relatively low hanging fruit for FCA compliance across the US DoD DIB. With well over 100,000 DIB contractors globally and the well reported low levels of compliance to NIST SP 800-171 by DIB Contractors from the top to the bottom of the DIB Supply chain.Cybersecurity compliance is a challenge for many companies, least of all defence contractors. Cyber regulation is a relatively new capability for public and private sector organisations globally. The US DIB is a sector has been required to comply to DFARS 7012 since 2017 and several GAO reports have raised concerns over the lack of compliance to DFARS across the DIB globally. Driving the US DoD CMMC program. One suspects there’s plenty of opportunity to evaluate DFARS compliance across the DIB, as scrutiny over Federal spending continues. One wonders if or how the adoption of cyber regulation could be used to justify the home shoring of US Defence manufacturing?@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D. McCarthy Faisal Khan Rachel V.
