One would argue Ted Dziekanowski that there needs to be common agreement between the U.S and partner nations on harmonising cybersecurity regulations and standards.

You cannot expect UK organisations that operate cyber essentials (there are very few of them) to operate as effectively as U.S organisations that are being regulated to implement cyber risk, or regulated EU CNI providers. There is no level playing field to protect CNI and subsequently national security.

One only has to look at the U.S DoD CMMC program to understand how cyber is a strategic differentiator.
