profoundly and irrevocably, there’s not rolling back the effects of AI.

In the past week we have seen Accenture adapt to the effects of AI, and this week markets are pricing in the effects of AI on WPP Plc. As Barclays downgraded WPP and other advertising agency rivals, due to the profoundly and irrevocably disruption AI will have on the industry. Wiping 5% off the WPP share price.

The severity of this downgrade cannot and should not be underestimated. Barclays downgraded WPP to the lowest rating ‘underweight’, from the previous neutral ‘equal weight’ stance, with the bank’s share price target cut from 700p to 550p.

Ironically the WPP CEO announced his retirement recently; margins are down in H1 2025 against 2024, and around $1.4billion in media bills have to be defended. What is keeping WPP going is it’s size and strength. But what does AI mean for the smaller more vulnerable agencies, and the industry?

Tom McLeod, the profits are aligning around the stars. When one examines other knowledge industries, what predications can you make for audit and AI?
