Several nations are moving to protect Critical National Infrastructure from cyber attack, through proposed legislation and regulations. The UK is developing regulations and a code of practice for Electronic Communications (Security Measures) and draft Telecommunications Security. To address the risk of security compromises to public electronic communications networks and services with the aim of bringing in the regulations from the 1st October 2022.

The Regulation sets out a suite of practices for telecommunications companies to apply and adhere. With similarities to other international regulations.
