Some may say a stark reality check, but it demonstrates the relationship between securing corporate IP and national security. There is never one side to a story. But when your adversary plays a very long game it is important to secure critical digital assets.

China has rapidly fielded and invested in high-end military technologies and equipment over the past few years. With the GOA reporting may times that Defense Industry Base cybersecurity requires improvement (https://lnkd.in/ehRD-qis). FISMA is a requirement for the DoD, and the DoD DFARS program has been in place since 2017.

It’s also a warning why cybersecurity is an issue here and now. Arguing over when to report cyber incidents is a distraction, resolving cyber complacency and delivering cybersecurity is what matters if we are to secure corporate data and national security.
