Space Force seems to be moving quickly with its cybersecurity program? Rolling out cybersecurity requirements to commercial providers.
The Space Force Infrastructure Asset Pre-Assessment (IA-Pre) program will require satcom providers to get on-site, third-party assessors to validate their compliance with cybersecurity standards before they can bid on CSCO contracts to sell their services to the U.S. military
As yet the standard has not been publicized formally. However the USAF risk management office were soliciting input and much has been said about the use of NIST SP 800-53.
‘The Space Force already maintains a list of certified third-party assessors—known as Agents of the Security Control Assessor (ASCA)—who help validate contractor compliance with existing security standards under the DODs Risk Management Framework.’ (https://lnkd.in/e7vHa6vb)
So one expects that it will be aligned with existing Department of Airforce requirements for risk management under AFI 17-101.
