Ted Dziekanowski I thought everyone was doing AI, you’re not a tech firm unless you are doing AI. There’s a simple test to find out if a company know what its doing with AI.

You ask how a company is using AI, the response is ‘well it is and we are going to save companies lots of money using our AI enabled tool’, you ask ‘how’, they say its going to make business processes easier’, you ask ‘how’, they say its going to automate processes’ you say, ‘but wasn’t that what process orchestration and BPM was about’, ‘they go quiet’. You ask, ‘What about machine learning to automate real world processes’, they go quiet. OK, you say, ‘how do you know its going to work?’, they say ‘The AI told us it will’.

Parking the sarcasm to one side, I never knew there were so many AI enabled products in the market. The SEC is right to make clear the AI Washing message. Just because it uses an LLM does not make it AI.

Is there such a thing as ‘Cyber Washing’? Or is that being picked up when there’s a cyber incident and the SEC final cyber rule?
