Call us now:
Ted Dziekanowski this is a very real concern. While partner nations move ahead with cyber regulation the UK has made a decision not to this year. The SEC cyber rule, EU NIS 2, DORA, U.S and Canadian CMMC and Australian cyber proposals are developing quickly. Last weeks SEC charges against SolarWinds and NYDFS updates are an indication of the direction of cyber regulation and possible litigation in the U.S.
This does British industry no favors. Cyber regulation in the U.S, EU and APAC has a direct and indirect effect on trade. Cyber threats are global in nature, they pivot and target firms quickly and do not differentiate between geographic boundaries. Our partners expect the UK to address cybersecurity.
As a security professional with over 20 years of global cyber experience, who has engaged globally with regulators, the public and private sector, and industry. Unless there is a clear understanding of the effects of cybersecurity and the need for Governments to manage cybersecurity following a whole of society approach, that includes regulation we expose our CNI, Financial Institutions, and national, economic and societal security.
What message does this send to our partner nations?
