(nope its a standard)………… How do you determine which you need?(its not an and/or – 171 is a foundation of CMMC)………………. NIST 800-171 and CMMC are incredibly similar? (171 builds up CMMC)…………….
Just for clarity DFARS 252.204-7012 defines the baseline requirement for the protection of CUI using 171. DFARS 7019 and 7020 set oversight, assurance and reporting requirements for 171. DFARS 7021 sets certification of the cyber standards (CMMC).
and one wonders why the cyber message is so difficult to convey?
