Thank you DSEI Japan for inviting me to speak at this years defence conference. Cybersecurity risk management is a focus of U.S and EU regulators. The U.S DoD put in place cybersecurity regulations under DFARS back in 2017, affecting defence contractors and subcontractors. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is planning cyber risk management regulation that will affect public firms. The EU has implemented the EU NIS 2, Digital Operational Resilience Act and in proposing the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
Cybersecurity Risk management regulation is a focus for governments. Regulation that has developing enforcement regimes for defense contractors under DoD DFARS, CMMC, the False Claims Act (FCA), and specifically their boards under and SEC proposal.
I look forward to discussing these topics and what they mean for the Defence industry, both public contractors and their subcontractors.
