Thank you for posting Brian D. McCarthy. EU NIS 2 is here in the EU, and the 27 member states are working toward defining their approached to implementation, oversight and assurance. The Hungarian government published its regulation for audit of NIS 2 at the end of January, including audit methodology and pricing.https://lnkd.in/esn5T9AEThe legislation has caused a bit or a stir, both in term of audit pricing and I expect in terms of audit approach. The Hungarian Government based the audit methodology on NIST SP 800-53 r5. Which is a positive outcome. However, they want auditors to complete an audit for no more than 20,000 EUR.While there are positive moves forward in outlining audit methodology, in this case around NIST SP 800-53 r5. There needs to be more thinking placed around how such audits will take place, how organisations can realistically comply to such a comprehensive standard, the lack of skilled audit resources and the costs of completing audits.https://lnkd.in/e2r5q5ed@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Faisal Khan Ryan BucknerVeritas GRC#cybersecurity #cyberriskmanagement #cyberregulation #eunis2
