Thank you for posting Bryan Foss. As AI develops it will have a profound impact on employment prospects. Our own work in evaluating AI and cyber audit has demonstrated a significant improvement in the efficiency, quality and risk of completing audit tasks over cybersecurity.

Tom McLeod we can demonstrate a 60% – 80% improvement in the time taken to review document persuasiveness when we combine the 3 AI capabilities of Domain Specific AI, with Gen AI and Agentic AI into a single platform. We can ‘full inspect’ rather than ‘sample inspect’ and write a audit assurance opinion of control effectiveness of selected controls, and we are just at the beginning of the AI journey.

Our work does not aim to reduce headcount, but augment the talent pool as it currently stands. With cyber regulations such as EU NIS 2, DORA, the SEC Final Cyber rule there’s more than enough need in the market for internal and external audit and cyber control assurance.

In ones opinion AI will not remove ‘half of entry level jobs’, our own work demonstrates that AI will augment the low value, high volume work that takes place and allow people to focus on the high value activities. In audit for example AI allows auditors to develop their cyber audit skills; focus on high value work and enable auditors build a closer more value add relationship with clients. AI allows us to get rid of all the crap.
